Rangers transfer business has been accelerating over the last seven days or so, Todd Cantwell has been announced, Nicolas Raskin is nearly over the line and Morgan Whittaker pulled out of Swansea City’s last game due to speculation about his future.

Whittaker is under contract with the Championship outfit for another few years so, there won’t be the same desire for them to cash in now, reports that we have had two bids rejected suggests that we will be going back in again especially when you consider that it isn’t a fee that is out of our reach.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, transfer journalist Dean Jones has suggest that the deal for Whittaker could still be done as the end of the window approaches and that the player himself could be a driving force:

“This would be a huge opportunity for him, and I think on the basis of that alone, you would say there’s a chance. But also, I think that Rangers are still going to give it another push.”

The good thing is, Rangers don’t need to force this transfer either. With Cantwell signed, Ianis Hagi returning, Malik Tillman playing well and Fashion Sakala contributing after a run of games, we are well-catered for players who can play off the right-hand side of the attack and that’s before we consider Tom Lawrence’s return.

There are obvious concerns about the future of Ryan Kent and whether or not we will take up the option to sign Tillman permanently, however, if we can’t get Whittaker for the right price, there are plenty more fish in the sea.
