After Steven Gerrard’s comments at the weekend it would be something of a shock if Steven Davis decides to hand his boots up at the end of the season.

With this in mind – and taking into consideration the arrival of Nnamdi Ofoborh – we could go into next season with the same group of central midfielders except for Bongani Zungu, however, if Glen Kamara is sold as expected, we will still need one more through the door to get us back up to a full complement.

Rangers have been linked with a series of potential transfers this season and this is where you get to choose who you think should be targeted by Ross Wilson.

Kenny McLean

Rangers have tried to get him before, he is a known fan and he is proven at Premier League and international level, however, he would command a decent transfer fee if we wanted to tempt him back up the road – a hybrid between Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield with the versatility that the Gers gaffer likes in his engine room, he would also help with the number of “home grown” players we have.

John Lundstram

One week we are favourites to get him , the next we have been ruled out, but again, the club has never distanced itself from a move for the Sheffield United midfielder. Similar to McLean, he is capable of playing box-to-box but with the added benefit of being available on a free transfer, however, this would see him command a bumper weekly wage having demonstrated that he can compete in England’s top flight.

Dejan Ljubicic

The Rapid Vienna man is also out of contract in the summer, was linked with us last year and as the more defence minded of the three offers a different option, this doesn’t mean that he isn’t effective going forward, we know all too well from the 2018 Europa League how composed he can be in the final third and the Austrian youth cap is my preferred player.

Who would you sign?

It’s not an easy choice and all three of them would enhance Rangers squad but you can only pick one, put yourself in Ross Wilson’s shoes and take your pick.
