John Lundstram has been one of the names most frequently linked with a summer move to Rangers and the Sheffield United midfielder has yet to announce where his future lies.

Football Insider has, however, reported that the 26-year old won’t be heading to Ibrox and has a host of offers from Premier League clubs on the table.

Valued at over £7million, competing with sides in England’s top flight is always going to be difficult given the disparity in finances, sometimes even the lure of Champions League football is not enough to tempt a player away from a yearly relegation battle.

Obviously nothing has been confirmed yet but losing out on Lundstram would be a blow – if we are actually interested in the first place – he has a skillset that would be perfect in Steven Gerrard’s midfield and would compliment the players we already have.

Rangers have kept a tight ship recently with regards to rumours and have always been quick to dispel ones that aren’t true, the fact that there has never been a confirmation one way or the other on Lundstram has only served to fan the flames of speculation.

Do we still need Lundstram after signing Ofoborh?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Nnamdi Ofoborh will join up next season but there will still need to be reinforcements added to the engine room, if there was a choice, I’d rather take Lundstram’s teammate – John Fleck – if there was any possibility of getting a deal done.

Not only is he “one of our own” and helps the UEFA squad requirements but he is a natural successor to Steven Davis, it’s just a shame his contract isn’t in the same boat as Lundstram’s.
