Rangers appear to be close to signing at least one if not two new strikers before this season is even out with the news that Fashion Sakala and Britt Assombalonga are set to be offered deals to join the Scottish Premiership champions.
As with all transfers in the modern age there is one sure fire indication that a transfer could be imminent and this is certainly the case with Sakala – he has started following the social media accounts of several Ibrox stars, as reported by The Daily Record, this is after he liked a post where a fan had pleaded with him to “come to Rangers”.
Sakala has been in blistering form in 2021 including a run of games where he had eight goals and two assists in nine appearances, with him being capable of playing on the right-hand side of attack he would certainly provide the flexibility needed to add to Steven Gerrard’s attack.

The 24-year old Zambian youth international is available on a free contract and looks set to take the places of Jordan Jones and Brandon Barker who have both been performing well on loan, getting them off the wage bill and receiving transfer fees for the pair would be a great piece of work by Ross Wilson if he pulls it off.
This summer is very much about fine tuning and making small upgrades and the move for Sakala would certainly represent that, if of course he does more than just follow the players on social media and follows them to Glasgow.
