An almost throw away line in a recent article could point to at least one more addition being made by Rangers before the transfer window shuts next week.

Writing in The Athletic, Jordan Campbell detailed where the club currently stands in terms of squad depth and how the current market is affecting it’s ability to fully adhere to it’s transfer model, but, when talking about possible incomings, it was one sentence that hinted at a new arrival in the coming days.

“Indeed, The Athletic understands they plan to add another midfielder and forward to the group in what’s left of this window.”

Well, he’s 50% right so far because not long after the article was published Juninho Bacuna was announced as a Rangers player having signed from Huddersfield Town, hoping to add creativity from midfield which leaves one more potential target.

Juninho Bacuna revealed earlier in the season that Ross Wilson wasn’t looking to add any more forwards to the squad but that a number six and a number eight were the priority, you would think that John Lundstram and Bacuna tick those boxes.

Who scored Rangers first ever goal under Steven Gerrard in EL qualification?

As Campbell refers to in his article, we have been linked, extensively, with Bright Osayi-Samuel at Fenerbahce but given the rumoured fee – between £3-5million – I just can’t see that happening, Zinedine Ferhat is another right-sided attacker who we have enquire about but he is likely to stay in Ligue 1.

At times this season it may have seemed that we are short in attack or haven’t really strengthened but we have had to cope without Kemar Roofe in Europe and Fashion Sakala has struggled with a groin injury almost since the first day of the season against Livingston, the pair, outside of Alfredo Morelos, are our best goal scorers.

We need to balance the books and with a squad that already requires to be rotated to keep players happy, I just can’t see any more additions, not that I’d turn down the chance to welcome another goal scoring forward that is.
