Rangers have been quoted a price for a target who has been on Ross Wilson’s radar for some time if you believe reports in the press.

Bright Osayi-Samuel – who the Gers have “approached” – only moved to Fenerbahce in January, leaving Queens Park Rangers after agreeing a pre-contract deal with the Turkish giants negotiating a cut-price transfer fee to get him in early.

Steven Gerrard was said to be interested in trying to persuade the 23-year old forward to head north with a similar type of arrangement, however, the Nigerian chose the slightly warmer climate and the Super Lig.

Now though, Fenerbache are said to have already decided to cash-in and have set the bar pretty high in terms of the transfer fee that they are hoping to get with Inside Futbol reporting that £4.3million is where they value Osayi-Samuel at.

Vital Rangers has already reported that we are unlikely to add any more players to the forward line with a number six/defensive midfielder the only position we are still actively trying to bring in.

Should Rangers spend £4m on Osayi-Samuel?

No

When you consider how well stocked we are already in Osayi-Samuel’s position, it would be a lot of money to pay for someone who isn’t guaranteed to start every week and if we do look to add an extra attacker it is more likely to be Santiago Moreno who would cost around the £1m mark.

It looks as though because we were linked with him before that the Turkish press are going to keep dropping our name into the conversation, I just can’t see us spending over £4m on a player we were trying to get for free just a matter of months ago – Ross Wilson has more sense than that.
