Even a few days after stories first broke about Rangers players being involved in another Covid-19 breach emotions are still running high and few fans have any sympathy for the named parties.
Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey has their names revealed early doors but Steven Gerrard has now confirmed that Brian Kinnear, Dapo Mebude and Bongani Zungu were also guilty.
The last three don’t have a future at the club due to their respective contract situations but Patterson and Bassey are established members of the first-team squad, calls for them to be sacked may be extreme but it is a representation of how the fans feel.
Will Zungu play for Rangers again?
Yes
No
One opinion that has been consistent is of the future of Zungu, with his performances hardly setting the world on fire, the £2.7million option to buy clause would’ve been a hard sell to fans – they can agree on something though, he won’t be seen in Light Blue again:
Zungu will never play for us again, from what I’ve seen from him against Hamilton in the league game and St Mirren in the cup I’m glad 😅

Send Zungu back to France asap 👍
Getting Bassey and Patterson papped put on loan in the summer, Mebude’s contract is up in the summer so let it wind down & get that lad Kinnear out of our academy completelyAll 5 have brought embarrassment and shame on Rangers & themselves

agreed Send Zungu home and fire the others

Zungu won’t play for us again but there’s a high chance at least 3 of the other 4 will, which I have no issues with – made a mistake, move on

You could see from Steven Gerrard’s interview how frustrated and let down he feels from the whole debacle, as fans, we just can’t understand why players in such privileged positions would jeopardise their futures let alone the chance of getting a league winners medal.
