Footballers sometimes get a bad rap for being stupid, for the most part this is wholly unjustified, however, when you hear about players being allegedly fined by the police for attending a party, you have to wonder what goes through their heads.
After Jordan Jones and George Edmundson were hit with seven game bans from the SFA and effectively saw their Rangers career end, there has – rightly – been a strong reaction from fans demanding similar action, if players have been found to have committed a similar offence.
Rangers are aware of an alleged incident which is subject to an internal investigation. We will make no further comment. pic.twitter.com/XVRhHWzWpJ

The Athletic and Sky Sports have reported on the story but, as yet, other than on social media, only Calvin Bassey and Nathan Patterson have been named and Rangers are conducting their own investigation before releasing any further information.
It’s safe to say that with the club being just four wins away from a first Scottish Premiership title in nearly a decade, fans are furious at the actions of a reckless few putting at risk the achievements of the dedicated majority:
If it’s the two players reported then they deserve to be sacked

4 players this season putting our biggest title in our history at risk.
I wouldn’t give them league medals.
And free transfer them out the club.— Chris McLaughlin (@Chr1sMcLaughlin) February 14, 2021
Apparently calvin bassey and Nathan Patterson out drunk at a house party.
If true then they have no future at our club regardless of how good they are or could be. Simple. Club comes first.

A swear if this comes out to be what we’ve heard we need to get rid.

If rumours are true, they need to be shown the door. Jeopardising things just as we are about to win the league. Unforgivable.

Torn between anger and just accepting that some folk aren’t that bright. Can you be angry at stupidity? Especially coming from youngsters? Discipline them hard then give them a second chance I think. Hopefully they’ll learn from it.

They might not be senior players but they are old enough to know what they are doing and should be treated accordingly, however, calls for them to be sacked are extreme, for a start, employment law probably wouldn’t allow it and without defending their actions, imagine the reaction to some of Paul Gascoigne and Ally McCoist’s behaviour “back in the day”.
