Alfredo Morelos is undoubtedly one of our most valuable players considering his exploits in the Europa League and his status as a Colombian international.
The news that he is potentially interested in staying for another year would be a huge boost although if there are any bids that match Rangers valuation it would be a surprise to see him stay.
However, if we qualify for the group stages and Morelos shines, there could be an added bonus, as former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips explains to Football Insider:
“Morelos’ price tag will increase handsomely if he performs in the Champions League next season.
“Lots of eyes will be on him if he’s playing in the best competition in the world against a higher quality of opposition. It doesn’t matter who you are, your price tag will go up.
“Let’s hope it happens so if he was to move on next year Rangers get good money. It is a win-win for all parties concerned in that case.
“Steven Gerrard will have to manage him carefully again next year. I am sure there will be some bumps along the way but we all know he is a top goalscorer.
