Alfredo Morelos is flying just now, he’s back to his best and he couldn’t have timed it any better.

There has always been speculation surrounding the Colombian international and there were a few eyebrows raised when Rangers rejected an offer of over £16million for him in the summer.

That is looking like a title winning decision now and one that could see the club making even more money if he continues his current form, and speaking to Football Insider, Alan Hutton, believes that if a club matches our valuation, he will be off to pastures new:

“It was funny to hear Gerrard say he thinks he’s got that twinkle in his eye in the European competitions because obviously, me knowing and moving from Rangers, that’s when the scouts were watching it.

“It was the European nights, the international games. He definitely turns it on under the lights, that’s for sure. Ultimately, that’s what’s best for both parties.

“We obviously know he’s a prized asset for Rangers but if the right fee comes in, he’s off, he will leave. Him doing his best for Rangers is helping the team and what they want to do moving forward.

“For personal reasons, people are watching him thinking: ‘Right, he is the main man. He is the real deal and he’s a player we’d love to have at our club.’ That’s the way you have to think as a football player.

“You have to be playing well at your club for anybody even to look at you. He’s doing well on the pitch at the moment and that’s all Gerrard can ask for.

“The thought of being involved in eight goals out of nine is incredible.”

Morelos has always been a bit of a streaky player in terms of his goalscoring, every player has dips in form but when he is on it, he is borderline unplayable, just ask the Royal Antwerp defenders what it’s like to face El Bufalo in full flow.

Will Morelos play in the Champions League for Rangers?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Whereas previously, it appeared as if the decision lay with the club, it is now going to be up to the player – will he see winning the title as “job done” or, does he fancy a crack at the Champions League with a team, group of players and support that clearly adores him?
