Vital Rangers revealed a few weeks ago that Ross Wilson isn’t in the market for any forwards, however, midfield remains a priority and that a number six and number eight are top of the shopping list.

With the signing of John Lundstram secured, we can tick off the number eight, in his own words, he is a box-to-box midfielder who will contribute to both the goals and assists numbers for our team which leaves just one more position that our sporting director is said to be looking to recruit,

Further evidence to back this up is the recent revelation by Dejan Ljubicic who has just signed for Koln from Rapid Vienaa who admitted that Rangers had also offered him contract on leaving the Austrian side and he is an out-and-out defensive midfielder.

Previously  had thought that we wouldn’t be looking to add any more players to the squad unless there are departures but after Ljubicic’s comments I wouldn’t be surprised to see one more addition.

Again, it shows the market we are shopping in though, young, available without a transfer fee and with the potential to still develop and make us a profit further down the line so future targets will also no doubt fit this criteria.

How many players do Rangers have at the Euros this summer?

One such player is Ivan Lipinjica, the Croatian Under-21 international defensive midfielder, who, at nearly 6ft 3inches tall shares a remarkably similar physique to Ljubicic – it is also a market we have shopped in before and know we can get value in, the 22-year old is rated at just £450,000.

We have been linked with Lipinjica before so it could be one to keep an eye on and, like Ljubicic, Vital Rangers will keep you updated every step of the way.
