“Unbelievable” – Boyd gets the fishing rod out on Sky Sports News

On a day where advocates of Scottish football should be applauding the work of Rangers to get a genuinely top class player through the door, it was strange to see two, ahem, heavyweights falling over themselves to make sly dogs at the club.

The bitterness on display from Chris Sutton and John Hartson was a sight to behold, an invitation that our own Kris Boyd couldn’t miss when discussing the deal to sign Arron Ramsey on Sky Sports News:

“Some Welsh internationals have played in Scottish football in the past and Ramsey’s right up there, if not the best. If this deal gets done, it’s an unbelievable bit of business. It’s a great move for both parties.“

Boyd is right, make no mistake, Ramsey is the finest Welsh international to play in Scotland, his record speaks for itself for club and for country, the former Rangers striker having a grand time when the deal was announced sit-in gnext to form Celtic keeper Shay Given.

There is little love lost between the pundits who make no attempt to hide their allegiances, however, I don’t think the pair of a green and white persuasion thought that their day was going to turn out the way that it did – mocking initial rumours before going on respective blocking sprees.

It was all fun and games when we were struggling to challenge for second place, never mind the league, but from last season when it became clear that we were going to be champions and now this season after signing Amad Diallo and Aaron Ramsey, they really haven’t taken the news at all well, looks like they’ll just have to go back to their usual referee conspiracy and penalty nonsense to get them through the day.
