We finally find a right winger who can score goals and our defence start behaving like the Chuckle Brothers with Allan McGregor forgetting how to catch a ball.

When we signed Manchester United’s Amad Diallo out the blue this week, few would have thought that he would be thrown straight into the starting XI at a venue like Dingwall, let alone in gale force winds, given that the Ivory Coast international hardly has the physique of Joe Aribo.

The 19-year old didn’t let the awful conditions or the occasion get the better of him though and was a constant threat on the right-hand side of the Gers attack, not everything came off but his ability to hit the byline or cut inside gave the defence problems for the full duration he was on the park.

Diallo’s interplay with Aribo and James Tavernier also looks like it could be successful, that the youngster had a hand in two of our goals suggests that we have finally found balance to our attack.

Ryan Kent looked sharp on the opposite side and with two players either side of Alfredo Morelos or Kemar Roofe capable of dragging defenders out of position we should see more chances being created, it’s the same as Aribo, he didn’t deserve his efforts in the Highlands to be ruined by those at the other end of the park.

Diallo can be pleased with his afternoon’s work, on a bigger, more open pitch at Ibrox with 50,000 fans behind him, he really could be something quite special – we just need to keep the ball out at the other end.
