One thing that needs to be addressed either in January or the summer is the signing of a new first-choice goalkeeper. Someone who can come in immediately and be a consistent and reliable number one.
Playing in the Polish top flight, Vladan Kovacevic has been linked with a move to Rangers already and it would appear as if the 24-year old is potentially eyeing a move away from Rokow having seen one to Benfica fail shortly after extending his current contract.

Kovacevic would command a sizeable fee but, with analyst Patrick Caskie describing him as his “carte blanche” Allan McGregor replacement, there is a lot to like about the towing stopper.
A description of his playing style by his goalkeeper coach only adds to the potential excitement of finally signing a keeper who actually suits our attempted style of play:
βBut here in Sarajevo he faced the same type of obligations. He is used to a possession-based game, having to play higher up the pitch, playing as if he were a centre-back.

Kovacevic was goalkeeper of the year in Poland and has a clean sheet record of one every two games throughout his senior career, the only question would be whether or not we are able to get him before someone higher up the food chain and in a more attractive league comes calling.
