Dave King announced late on Monday night that he was looking to rejoin the Rangers board now that his personal business interests have settled down following a difficult period caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and it has certainly been the subject of much debate amongst fans.
There are those that feel, as the biggest shareholder and what he has done for the club, that he deserves a seat back at the table, however, after his failed attempts to see Club 1872 buy out his stake, there are some who are suspicious about his motives for wanting to return.
King either wants his money back and has to find another way to do it or, genuinely wants to continue the work he did previously in getting us back on track and making Rangers a truly self-sufficient business.
These fans aren’t so sure though and took to social media to vent their frustration at a sideshow that we could well do without in such an important year:
I’ve got a lot of time for Dave King but his time has came and gone. He’s not going to get much grace from our support constantly running to The Sun and Daily Record to give them exclusives, is he? Another mess we don’t need.

Its guess work mixed with knowledge of the person involved, granted. Dave King always has a circus around him. Thankful for the work he done, but we don’t need that anymore imo, and I don’t trust him.

We should always be thankful for what Dave King did for the club when we needed him.
However absolutely no good can come from him returning to the board. He’s wanting his money back and is keen to make as much noise as possible until he gets it back. He’s a distraction.

Has my eternal thanks but he’s a total distraction now. Don’t believe for a second he wants back on the board either, think he’s just mixing it because he know the current board don’t want to publicly answer whether they’d have him back.

He’s done his bit, sell shares and go back to being a supporter, that Daily Record piece finished any King involvement in Rangers for me after that, thanks for giving us our club back, done your bit, move on and let this board continue with what they are doing

King can be a force for good but he can also attract attention for all the wrong reasons such is the way in which he conducts himself, he is never shy from voicing his opinion or concerned about who he might upset – time will tell what, if any, agenda he has but, for a man who sacrificed so much for the club, he should at least be afforded the luxury of time before he is criticised.

How got us out of a hole we should not forget this. Dont treat him the way the Tim’s did with Fergys McCann, we are better than that.
Dave will stabilise the board, the club , and is a better figure head. He takes no prisoners to defend our club.
Dave King almost single handedly saved our club, brought SG to the club and ended TIAR. What is going on at the club re dealing with the media is a total embarrassment and unbecoming of the club. Hopefully he’ll be back to deal with this and send that buffoon Robertson packing as his incompetence has dragged the club down and lets not forget it was him that cost us Prescious time and millions with his appointment of PC.
