Bournemouth defender  Jack Simpson has arrived and Nnamdi Ofoborh has all but been confirmed as heading to Rangers on a pre-contract deal and after missing out on their side’s FA Cup tie against Crawley, manager Jason Tindall revealed that it’s only a matter of time before the pair are in Light Blue.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Daily Echo, he said that both players appear to have “made up their minds” on signing for Rangers and that there is a real possibility of their transfers being finalised before the end of the January window, making them available for immediate selection.

Encouraging words from the Cherries gaffer and it would be perfect preparation if both players could get used to their surroundings, tactics and expectations ahead of next season, with Champions League football also a real possibility, it could be the difference between success and failure having players that are already bedded in.

We don’t particularly need the cover in defence that Simpson would provide with Leon Balogun and Filip Helander being carefully rotated but having Ofoborh in early would be a huge advantage, especially if he is being signed to take the place of others who may be leaving in the summer.

When would you like to see Simpson and Ofoborh?

The midfield is such an integral part of how we set up and any chance to work with him in training without the pressure of having to win games immediately should be taken if it is on the table.

There’s also the fact that it gives those already in possession of the starting jerseys an added incentive not to rest on their laurels, there’s nothing like having to look over your shoulder to keep a player on their toes.
