Reports from Bournemouth make it very likely that Rangers are about to close in on a double signing and confirmation appears imminent over the next 24-48 hours.

Yesterday, VitalRangers reported on the comments of Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall on the futures of  Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.

Now, the situation has developed with a further concession from the Cherries manager, as reported by the Bournemouth Echo.

“Obviously the Rangers thing is still going on. I think Jack’s made his mind up in terms of that’s where he wants to go and play his football.”

“I think that one is pretty much going to happen. Nnamdi I think is in a similar position.”

“I’ve got such a big squad to choose from. The likes of Jaidon Anthony, Gav Kilkenny and the other young guys – I think with their future firmly here at the football club, sometimes you have to give that priority.”

Both players were left out of the squad entirely for Tindall’s side in their 2-1 FA Cup win over Crawley, last night.

Eddie Howe’s successor was then asked if a pre-contract situation was likely or if there would be action to bring the pair to Glasgow in this window.

He responded, “It’s a possibility. It’s something that has happened in the past 24-48 hours in a sense of how quickly that’s moved on.”

“What happens in the next 24-48 hours, who knows? It’s football, things move very quickly but it’s something that’s obviously not completely in our control.”

“But if they do (come in earlier) and there’s an opportunity there, then I’m sure we will look at it.”

This comes after Steven Gerrard said yesterday that he was ‘hoping for more news in the coming days’ regarding further transfer activity.
