A difficult task just got harder with the news that Alfredo Morelos has been dropped from the Rangers squad for the winner-takes-all Champions League play-off decider against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night.

Questions about his fitness and attitude had already surfaced from fans but, with the Colombian striker regularly posting pictures and videos of him doing extra work in his own time, we can only assume that the way he has been applying himself on the training ground has left Giovanni van Bronckhorst less than impressed.

On Saturday, he was brought on with a job to do after John Lundstram’s red card, instead, he made things ten times worse and it appears to have been the final straw for the manager who will now need to go into a key game without either of his previously recognised first choice strikers in Morelos and Kemar Roofe.

El Bufalo has always worn his heart on his sleeve and when Gio arrived in November last year he was given a new lease of life, the Dutchman must be hugely frustrated with how he has been repaid.

It’s not only the manager that has been let down, James Tavernier looked visibly annoyed when asked about Morelos’s sending-off by Rangers TV and Sky Sports is reporting that the senior players are supporting the manager in his decision:

Sky Sports News understands Van Bronckhorst consulted various senior players within the squad, who all unanimously backed the decision.”

With just a year left on his current deal and contract talks now on hold, Morelos now has to decide what he wants out of the rest of his career because it’s unlikely that good sides from the top five leagues will be impressed with this sort of behaviour and he is unlikely to get back into the starting XI without a change of attitude.

Only one man knows what the future might hold and he’ll be watching us on TV on Wednesday night instead of firing us to the stage that he’s always wanted to play on.

Morelos is a disgrace to the jersey they want to get rid as soon as possible he is a liability
as shown again on Saturday even if they just get a few million
yes is one Rangers better scorer’s but at what cost you can’t afford to be playing with less than a full team, which the manager is chancing that when he puts MORELOS on,
