Rangers appear to be looking to South America this summer with as many as four Colombians being linked with a move to Ibrox, if reports are to be believed.

One name that refuses to go away, despite Vital Rangers sources claiming that we are not actively looking to strengthen in his position, is Santiago Moreno, the America de Cali forward.

Glasgow Live claims that we remain interested in the 21-year old whilst journalist Ricardo Arce has revealed the fee needed to secure his signature on Twitter, Google translate just about helping to make the Spanish make sense:

“The Scottish Rangers rumor is triggered by Santiago Moreno at a cost of 3 Million Dollars. This team recently wanted Borré. There is also talk of an English club by Santi. Hopefully it’s just rumours because @AmericadeCali you need it at least this semester.”

So, a fee of around £2m would be enough to sign Moreno, and he also confirms that we were interested in River Plate’s Santos Borre, although the £15m rated striker could prove to be just outside of our reach financially.

How many players do Rangers have at the Euros this summer?

Whilst Jordan Jones and Brandon Barker are still on the books I just can’t see us adding anyone else in this area, not that he wouldn’t be better in terms of quality, it just wouldn’t make financial sense.

It does give an idea of the difference in terms of transfer market valuations though when you consider that Moreno has played in the Copa Libertadores, across here, a similar target with Champions League experience would be worth considerably more than £2m.
