Antonio Colak, it’s safe to say, has hit the ground running for Rangers, scoring key goals to qualify for the Champions League as well as leading the line and taking chances in the Scottish Premiership, nine goals in 13 games is an impressive record.

The Croat is currently the top goalscorer in the league and is finding the net every 84 minutes, considering the fee paid – under £2million – and that he was brought in to replace Cedric Itten, it has been money well spent so far.

Many thought that he was signed purely as α back-up, however, he has now established himself as genuine competition for Alfredo Morelos and has jumped Kemar Roofe in the queue, given the latter’s injury problems.

The Gers gaffer gave us an update over the weekend with regards to the Jamaican international’s recovery, recent reports amongst fans being that the player himself has said he is pain-free and feeling as fit as he ever has, Giovanni van Bronckhorst – as reported by the 4 Lads Had α Dream blog – hinted that it is basically “up to the player” himself when he returns.

Hope that he might return after the international break.

Roofe has 34 goals in 72 games, however, in terms of minutes he has only played 44 full games, there has never been any doubt about his quality.

Having played most of his career on the right-hand side of the attack, I still think he is perfect for α similar role for Rangers, particularly in the league when we dominate possession and chances. He wouldn’t be expected to provide width like α natural winger with James Tavernier on that flank too but he is more than capable of playing the role and supplementing either Morelos or Colak.

Van Bronckhorst has barely had two strikers to choose from since taking over from Steven Gerrard, I’m not sure if he would know what to do with three, should it ever happen.

What a ridiculous statement for Gio to make .Why should it be up to Roofe ? We are paying his wages so if he`s fit he should be available to play .If he`s fit and unwilling to play for some reason he should be out the door at the first opportunity . He`s a decent finisher but for the amount of time he is actually fit to play he is no use to us .
