The Rangers line-up to face PSV at Ibrox has been confirmed with Gio van Bronckhorst making four changes from the weekend win over St Johnstone.

It appears to be a regular 4-3-3 system for the Gers, following on from the positive result last week against Union Saint Gilloise to secure the Playoff spot. Some more caution and restraint will be required tonight against a very good PSV team in a game that is likely to bring goals.

Steven Davis earns a recall in what is something of a surprise. The Northern Ireland legend is tried and tested at the top level but this will be another challenge for him, coming up against Gutierrez, Veerman and Sangare in what is set to be a fiercely competitive midfield battle.

Elsewhere, James Sands returns to defence, with Tom Lawrence and Ryan Kent also earning starts.

Defence

There is no sign of Ben Davies in the squad, meaning that three central defenders are currently unavailable – Filip Helander and John Souttar being the other two. That situation will be something of a concern for GvB but one that young Leon King may prosper from in the short term.

From the bench, Rangers main attacking options will come in the form of Alfredo Morelos, Rabbi Matondo and Scott Arfield. whilst there is plenty of midfield cover with both Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara also starting on the sidelines.

Given the attacking threat of both teams, it appears that goals are almost certain at both ends with valid questions on both defences adding intrigue to what should be a great game, led by two friends – Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ruud van Nistelrooy – going head to head.

Kick-off at Ibrox is at 8pm with the game televised live in the UK on BT Sports.

PSV line-up: Benitez – Max, Obispo, Ramalho, Teze – Gutierrez, Veerman, Sangare – Gakpo, de Jong, Saibari.
