Reports in Turkey have stated that Rangers have made a move for Fenerbahce winger Bright Osayi-Samuel.

This update comes following increased speculation, as reported last week by VitalRangers.

It has been said that Fener are willing to sanction a quick sale on the former QPR man, who only made the move to Istanbul in January, in order to raise funds for further signngs.

Glasgow Live picked up on the story, coming after local reports claimed that Rangers are leading the chase:

“However, it seems Osayi-Samuel might not be enjoying himself in the Turkish Super Lig with Turkish media outlet Fotospor claiming he’s keen to return to the UK – with both halves of Glasgow’s Old Firm eyeing a potential deal.”

“And now TumSport claim that the the Gers hierarchy have been the first club to make an approach for the player, with Monaco and Celtic are also reportedly tracking his status.”

With the likes of Jordan Jones and Brandon Barker facing uncertain Ibrox futures, the Gers could look to a loan-to buy switch for Osayi-Samuel to plug an important gap in the squad.

Potential

It is fair to say that the switch to Turkey has not worked so far for the player, so he may prefer to come back to the UK to kick-start his career.

Former Everton and Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell is adamant that Steven Gerrard should make the move happen, when he stated:

“He is a player who has been long-linked with Rangers. They have clearly been coveting him for a while.”

“A player of that quality for £3million is cheap money. Even though the transfer market in Scotland is different, that is cheap. I think that is about right for a player with a lot still to come.”

“He has got bags of pace, he is direct and he is a threat. I think he would do brilliantly in Scotland.”
