Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed that there will be no Alfredo Morelos for tonight’s crucial tie against PSV Eindhoven, however, he still believes that he has a future at the club.

Stating that players need to be ready “physically and mentally” to play for Rangers, it’s clear that the Colombian international has some way to go to earn back the manager’s favour – oh how we could have done with him firing on all cylinders for such a big game.

Every transfer window has seen Morelos linked with a move away and this summer has been no different, The Scottish Sun revealing the latest odds for him to be sold after he was dropped from the squad:

“Sevilla have emerged as favourites to sign Alfredo Morelos from Rangers after he was axed from the squad by boss Gio van Bronckhorst.

“The La Liga side are rated as 3/1 favourites with Betfair to sign to Colombian star, who has spearheaded the Gers attack in recent seasons.

“Sevilla are the only non-Premier League club to feature in Betfair’s market, with Aston Villa second-best at 6/1.

Just four weeks ago, Gio was confident that an agreement could be reached over a new contract and Morelos has appeared to show some sort of remorse in his usual way – actions, as always though, speak louder than social media posts.
