Sky Sports used to be the go-to place for breaking news, any transfer rumours, in particular, weren’t worth considering unless they had been seen on their 24-hour rolling news channel.

They might not be the quickest anymore with the advent of digital media, however, they can be relied upon for accuracy and after The Telegraph broke the story about Rangers approach for Michael Beale, Sky Sports News confirmed that an official approach has now been made:

From here it should be a relatively quick process, Beale clearly wants the job and will have been asked long before Giovanni van Bronckhorst was sacked whether or not he would potentially be interested.

Beale will have a lengthy injury list to contend with but players like Ryan Kent and Glen Kamara could be about to play a key role in our revival, he knows how to get the best out of them and what makes them tick.

The former Gers head coach will also know how far away we are in terms of recruitment and what exactly we need to close the gap on Celtic. We are entering a natural period of transition and any manager would love the chance to immediately stamp their authority on a squad and mould it into one reflecting their philosophy.

It looks like Beale’s dream of returning to Ibrox is about to become reality, let’s hope it doesn’t turn into a nightmare and he can return us to glory.

As a QPR fan I hope that he does go. He has used us. His words have no meaning. Players cannot trust him. QPR gave him his first management job. In return he has used us to further his ego. I TRULY hope that the owners of QPR will not allow him to take any of the current squad. You cannot TRUST A WORD THAT HE SAYS. If for any reason he turned down the Rangers job he would find it difficult to manage us QPR. The fans have turned against him & quite rightly so. He needs to go. The Owners of QPR must feel like the fans that what is the sense in having a manager /coach who is linked with another club every few months. If he fails at Rangers Please ,Please Please QPR DO NOT HAVE HIM BACK. I DO NOT THINK THAT HE WILL BE WELCOMED BACK. Just Go Mr Beale. What he has achieved at QPR has been achieved to a large extent by the previous manager . You Can Have Him. Just Pay The Money Quoted £1.5 million . Mr Beale please Do not Come Down To Watch Us Play & Pop Into A local Pub , because some how I Do Not See You Getting The Same welcome As You Did Around 3-4 weeks n Glasgow. This deal was made several weeks ago. When a Bigger Club comes Knocking at the Rangers door he will leave if he is not sacked beforehand. I Do Not Want Him Back At Any Price. His words are HOLLOW.
