Vital Rangers reported last weekend that the club was close to adding to it’s Colombian contingent after it emerged that the transfer of Juan Alegria from FC Honka was back on and now, a report from his homeland has gone one step further by revealing the details of the deal.
Pipe Sierra is a transfer market “expert” who provides content for Win Sport, a Colombian news outlet with 1.5million followers, and he has claimed on Twitter that the 19-year old striker is “very close” to moving to Glasgow with an announcement expected imminently:
🚨 EXCLUSIVA: Juan AlegrÃa (19) está muy cerca de convertirse en nuevo jugador del #Rangers. Esta semana podrÃa oficializarse su traspaso.

Translated, the Tweet reads:
“EXCLUSIVE: Juan AlegrÃa (19) is very close to becoming a new player in the Rangers . This week his transfer could be made official.  The Colombian forward will arrive from Honka in an operation of €100k + bonuses.”
Glen Kamara was a bargain at £50,000, but this could even top that if he replicates the impact that Alfredo Morelos has made, although it would be a tad unfair to compare him to our record European goal scorer.
It is something that Alegria will have to live with though because it is an easy comparison to make, even if their playing styles are completely different – Alegria is more similar to Jermain Defoe in his younger days rather than the battering ram that is El Bufalo.
We’ll maybe find out more details in the coming week about how a deal that was “90% done” in January has taken so long to get completed, especially at the figures being talked about, this doesn’t make his arrival any less exciting though whenever that will eventually be.
