Rangers fans were treated to an afternoon with skipper James Tavernier on streaming platform Twitch on Friday with the right-back joining the growing club of footballers interacting in a very modern past-time alongside his brother Marcus – who plays for Middlesbrough and former Ger Andy Halliday.
In days gone by the only way that you could meet players was by waiting at Ibrox before or after games in the hope of getting a signature or two but times have changed, and the growth in popularity of YouTubers and influencers means that there are more platforms in which fans can get up close and personal with their heroes.
With fans able to ask questions in between games the league winning captain gave a fascinating insight into some of his fellow Rangers players and when asked who the biggest joker in the squad was, he said:
“Buff, definitely Buff, I love him to bits man but he’s a pest!”
Watching the Rangers TV training videos it’s clear to see that Alfredo Morelos is a menace and loves a laugh, hopefully, the lure of Champions League football and the relationships he has at Auchenhowie will be enough to persuade him to stay a little bit longer.
