Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson have built a Rangers squad full of valuable players, internationals proven at the highest level who will make the club millions when they leave.

One player who is the poster boy for the club’s transfer model is Glen Kamara, bought for peanuts and someone who wouldn’t look out of place in any midfield in Europe.

The Finland international still has a couple of years left to run on his deal but that hasn’t stopped the club from talking to Kamara in the hope that he will extend his stay whilst rewarding him for his performances with former Ger, Alan Hutton, hoping that he has a sizeable release clause to prevent him leaving on the cheap, as reported by Football Insider:

“It suits everyone. He looks happy playing his football.

“He’s a main part of Steven Gerrard’s team. He’s learning from arguably one of the best midfielders in the world.

“Nowadays, with the likes of release clauses and things like that, if Rangers or Glen are willing to put that in there it suits everyone.

“Rangers are going to get value for the player, they’re giving the player the option that if this value is met, they’ll let him leave.

“To get to that stage he’s got to be playing at the top of his game so everybody’s a winner.”

Kamara has been outstanding this season, particularly in Ryan Jack’s absence, his ability to contribute at both ends of the park a key component in the success of Steven Gerrard’s side. Ironically, he is the player that most Rangers fans would probably accept getting sold given the potential profit, but also one of the hardest to replace – especially for £50,000.
