Michael Beale has been more prominent in talking about Rangers over the last 12-months than when he was actually at the club, since leaving Aston Villa to join QPR for his first managerial role, he has given numerous interviews about his time at Ibrox and working with Steven Gerrard.

He’s had a varied start in the Championship but is still tipped to be the board’s replacement should they decide to sack Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Speaking to Football Insider, Alan Hutton reckons that the Rangers job could be enough to persuade Beale to leave QPR so soon after his appointment having appeared to turn down the vacant at Wolverhampton Wanderers:

“I think it could.

“I think there is a possibility there.

“If you look from the outside in at Wolves, that is a very difficult job. At this moment in time they are at the bottom of the league. They are really struggling, they can’t score goals, that is a big task and a lot of pressure.

“Rangers is somewhere he knows, he knows most of the players. He has been used to that winning mentality when he has been there so I think it is something he would think long and hard about.

“It is maybe worth that change especially when you think of the European adventures. So I think it something he would definitely seriously think about.“

I’m still not convinced that Beale is a possible contender for the job, regardless of how much he might hint that one day he would like to return.

There is no doubt that he is a highly respected coach but, there is a big difference between that and being the manager of Rangers. There are also issues that we had against the low block when he was tasked with devising the training to solve such a problem. After three years, we were still struggling on a regular basis.

I just feel like there are shades of Mark Warburton in terms of how a Beale team would set up, it looks great when it’s going well but, as we’ve seen already with QPR, when things don’t go to plan it can quickly unravel.

He has a long way to go before he deserves to follow in such illustrious footsteps.

If Beale was good enough he should have been offered the job when Gerrard left just like we did with Walter when Souness went .He is no more experienced as a manager now after 6 months in charge at QPR then he was then .
I am fed up with the club being asked to pander to the support when picking people for the club .GVB was a ” fans ” choice despite the fact he had done nothing in management , Beale is the same , tweet about Rangers and the fans love you , great but are you the right man for the job ?Its the same with the clamour to sign McBurnie based on his perpetual tweeting about his love for Rangers , even though he`s a donkey and would get booed out of Ibrox after 6 months.
