Rangers have been linked with yet another midfielder as speculation over who will be the next face through the door at Ibrox intensifies, this time it is Israeli international Dan Glazer, who – according to the Glasgow Times – is being lined up by Steven Gerrard.

The 23-year old currently plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv and is a defensive midfielder by trade, however, the report claims that the Light Blues have distanced themselves with any move for the £1.4million rated player who could line up against Scotland this weekend.

The Gers gaffer has space on both his wage bill and in the dressing room following the departures of Ross McCrorie and Greg Docherty and midfield appears to be a genuine priority as the quality of the squad is gradually increased, the fact that there were six full internationals on the bench against Hamilton – with another three out injured – demonstrates the progress that has been made over the last few transfer windows.

The link to Glazer comes the same day that Slovakian international Patrik Hrosovsky was also said to be a target with reports in the Czech Republic claiming that Rangers are trying to negotiate a loan-to-buy deal for Ianis Hagi’s former Genk teammate with the Belgian side wanting to offload the midfielder for a fee believed to be around £3.5m.

Speculation has certainly increased over the last few days after Gerrard hinted at new arrivals and there is unlikely to be a shortage of names thrown out in the hope that one of them eventually sticks, the renewed secrecy in which the club are conducting their transfer business continuing to be a source of huge frustration for the Scottish media.
