Rangers continue to grow at a rapid speed off the pitch with James Bisgrove adding a new name to his commercial department.

Oliver Pfeiffer will take up a role as head of partnership management which could lead to even more brands looking to become involved with the Scottish champions, something football finance expert, Kieran Maguire, reckons is a shrewd move, as told to Football Insider:

“This is leveraging on the Gerrard factor and the ’55 factor.

“Rangers will never have a better opportunity to sign up with new commercial partners on the back of their achievements last season.

“Therefore, if you employ someone on, say, less than six figures annually then you’ve only really got to sign two more deals and then you’re quids in.

“The last thing you want is the phone being engaged every time a potential sponsor wants to get in contact. That’s just throwing money away.“

The commercial team has grown exponentially in the last few years and at a time when every penny is a prisoner it has been a huge boost to the club’s finances.

Pfeiffer has previously worked at both Manchester City and Manchester United, whilst Bisgrove joined us from UEFA, these are genuine Premier League quality appointments similar to that of Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson – you have to have the right people in the right jobs to maximise your potential and, finally, that’s exactly what we have.
