Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall has confirmed discussions with Steven Gerrard regarding the future of Rangers linked pair, Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.

The Cherries manager was very reserved and non-commital when asked about his two players yesterday, as reported by the Bournemouth Echo.

When asked for the latest regarding the two, Tindall stated “Obviously both players are out of contract at the end of the season, Stevie Gerrard did make contact with me a few days ago.”

“They are free to talk to teams due to their contract situation and Rangers are in a position to be able to do that now.”

“Nothing has been finalised as yet in terms of ‘are they signed, or are they going to be signing there?’

“But they are in a position to talk to them, to see what the opportunities might be for them in the future at Rangers Football Club.”

This update comes just days after it was reported that Ofoborh and Simpson had already been secured by the Gers on a pre-contract agreement despite no official confirmation.

Tindall continued in a downbeat, resigned manner on the prospects of the duo remaining at the south coast club.

He said, “We’ve been speaking to both of those players for a number of weeks now, about their future here at the football club.”

“But those conversations are kept private in terms of negotiations and where that goes.”

“But with any player that is out of contract in the summer – that has only got six months or so to run on their contract, you are always going to be in a position where you’ve got to accept that other clubs might want to speak to them and might want to sign them.”

“That’s where we are. What happens now moving forward, we will have to wait and see in the next few days.”

This one looks set to be declared in Rangers favour, VitalRangers will bring you the confirmation and reaction as it happens.
