BBC back to old tricks with Rangers agenda

No sooner has the BBC apologised to Rangers for previous imbalances in their editorial content concerning the club with the broadcaster being allowed back into the club than they slip back into their old routine.

On Sportsound on Saturday, Liam McLeod commentating on our game against Dundee United claimed that he couldn’t hear where the dissension to the minute’s silence was coming from – it hardly required the services of Sherlock Holmes to work it out – and Michael Stewart on Sportscene continued his VAR narrative, again, resorting to opinion, rather than fact, to assess refereeing decisions.

Twice on Saturday Dundee United players threw themselves to the ground with blatant dives, and yet, Stewart led the agenda that we got away with one, I’ve not even seen United fans complain about any of the calls from Kevin Clancy, α referee who has been far from sympathetic to our cause in the past. How can you say the whistler got the calls right but then say “it could easily be given“.

And then on Sunday, the former Celtic TV pundit suggested that St Mirren’s second goal would have been ruled out by VAR – it wouldn’t – embarrassingly, the lines drawn from Curtis Main when he was in the air to assess whether or not Jonah Ayunga was offside were clearly not in the right place. Tellingly, not one Celtic player claimed for it either.

Stewart and McLeod have shown in the past that they can’t be impartial and this season has been no different, you can’t help but get the feeling that it’s only α matter of time before we find ourselves back at square one with the national broadcaster.

In fact Watt should have been booked for diving in the first penalty claim it was so blatant . As for the ” offside ” in the Celtic game , their players were claiming for a push on Welsh not offside . Like you I think VAR would probably have drawn the lines in the right place to gauge whether it was or wasn`t offside.
