Rangers should return for Prem star tipped to “move on” by manager

|

Rangers have been linked with a few players over the last couple of weeks but one rumour that has been quiet this season has been that of Lewis Ferguson and a potential move that seems as obvious as the one that saw David Turnbull move from Motherwell to Celtic.

With family ties aside, the Aberdeen midfielder fits the profile of a Ross Wilson signing in that he has shown good potential already but with plenty of room to develop and his current gaffer Derek McInnes has recently spoken about his importance to his side whilst accepting that one day he will move on, as reported by The Daily Record:

“Lewis has been pivotal to us from day one really and he’s just continues to be more important as he goes along.

“He’s outstanding.

“Lewis is a a young man who does everything right and is such a key performer for me.

“He was signed with the intention of developing him and have good moments with us over a period of time, but you know eventually he will move on.

“But, while he is in our team, he will continue to do what he’s done.”

Steven Gerrard’s midfield has performed well this season with the biggest difference being that when things aren’t going right he has the ability to change it as was seen in the 3-1 win against Motherwell when Joe Aribo and Ianis Hagi both came off the bench to good effect.

Is Lewis Ferguson good enough for Rangers?

Yes

Yes

No

There does, however, need to be a plan in place for when Steven Davis and Scott Arfield eventually hang up their boots and we could do a lot worse than approaching Ferguson with Aberdeen less likely to be as cold to a deal after we allowed Ross McCrorie to go in the opposite direction earlier in the year.
