Rangers fans knew before a ball was even kicked at the 2020 European Championships that Glen Kamara was going to be a stand out performer for his country – it’s just what he does.

Despite only playing three games, the Finland international was still at the top end of the charts for interceptions completed, demonstrating just how useful he can be for a team looking for a midfielder who can break up attacks and play a key role in couner attacking football.

We’ve already seen a host of Premier League clubs linked with the former Arsenal academy graduate, however, a new name has joined the chase in the shape of West Ham United, according, exclusively, to Give Me Sport:

“Sources close to the situation speak of the London club’s interest developing over the course of Euro 2020.

“Indeed, with the Rangers midfielder featuring in all of Finland’s three games at the tournament, David Moyes’ side have been taking a deeper look into his statistics and have asked the Scottish champions about potential terms.

“Interestingly, figures have also told GMS that Kamara could be targeted ahead of Czech Republic international Alex Kral, who had been linked with joining international teammates Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal at the London Stadium.”

There’s almost a part of me that wants Kamara to go to the Premier League just so that we can see him performing at the highest level week-in, week-out, if he went to a team like West Ham, you just know it would only be a matter of time before he ended up at a “bigger” club.

Which new signing are you most excited to see next season?

The good thing is, if there is more than one team interested, his price tag should go up and if rumours of Celtic rejecting bids of £12million plus add-ons for Kris Ajer are also true when he is in the last 12-months of his contract, it gives us an indication of where we should be setting Kamara’s valuation.

It’s the first transfer window where we could make genuinely big money for our players, Ross Wilson isn’t a soft touch and knows how deep the pockets of Premier League clubs are, as a wise man once said – show me the money!
