Transfer silly season is finally upon us, news of Galatasaray hoping to land Joe Aribo for £3.5million right up there with the best of the nonsense we have seen so far.

Aribo is just the latest Rangers player to be linked with a move from Ibrox and one player that has seen his name linked with the top leagues in  Italy, Spain and Germany is Romanian international Ianis Hagi.

The 22-year old playmaker has enjoyed a hugely successfully first full season in Glasgow and still has some way to go before he is truly fulfilling his potential, he clearly loves Rangers, his team-mates and the coaching staff, however, this hasn’t stopped him from dreaming about a move to the place of his birth – Turkey, as reported by Emanuel Rosu, the Romanian journalist who first broke news of Hagi’s move to the Light Blues:

“I am with a fabulous club, the best place where I can be in right now. The mentality and the aura of this club are huge.

“One day, I’d like to play for Galatasaray. It’s a club I love, I grew up with that club in my heart. I was born there. I don’t know what future holds, but i have feelings for that club!”

Who finished as Rangers top goal scorer this season?

Well they’ll just have to wait. Steven Gerrard is already on record as saying potential suitors will have to “bring an army” if they want to sign any of his title winners and Hagi is right up there in terms of his importance to the squad, remember, he has barely been here a year and is only going to get better.
