Galatasaray are said to be preparing a bid for Rangers mercurial man Joe Aribo, but it appears that their bid is missing a digit…

Turkish outlet SporX have quoted a £3.5 million fee – yes, that is three point five million pounds.

To be honest, I’m not sure that it would be enough to buy his right leg, never mind the left.

Glasgow Live reported on the link from the Turkish outlet:

‘The 24-year-old Nigeria international has been in excellent form for Steven Gerrard ‘s side this season and played a crucial role in the Ibrox club winning the Premiership title without losing a solitary league match.’

‘And it seems Aribo’s standout performances have won him admirers on the continent, with Turkish outlet SporX reporting that the Istanbul giants are seriously considering a £3.5million offer this summer to try and tempt Rangers into selling.’

Gala know all about Rangers qualities of course, given that they were decisively beaten in the Europa League playoff round, back in October.

There is no doubt that several of Steven Gerrard’s Champions will be attracting bids this Summer, however derisory offers like the suggestion of £3.5 for Aribo will be ridiculed and rightly so.

From a position of strength, assets will only be leaving Ibrox if the price is right.

Categorically, a player who is a domestic champion, with significant Europa League experience as well as a full international will not be sold for such a measly amount.

The SporX article does state, ‘a higher amount is expected to be requested’.

Maybe £13.5 million and we can start to talk.
