Two weeks after news of our interest in Todd Cantwell first broke and Rangers appear to be no closer to announcing a deal for the 24-year old, a transfer window that started with excitement has descended into the frustration that, as yet, no new faces are through the door.
Michael Beale spoke last week about expecting to see a few additions with Cantwell obviously being one of them, another name to emerge is Swansea City’s Morgan Whittaker.
Understand Rangers are interested in Swansea’s Morgan Whittaker.
The attacker has not played for the club since returning from Plymouth while Russell Martin confirmed last week that a bid for the 22-year-old had been rejected. #Swans #RangersFC #pafc https://t.co/RNHQpHNQ3K

The Swans forward has been on loan at Plymouth Argyle in League 1 and has scored nine goals and created seven assists during a very productive first-half of the season, a decent return for the 22-year old but he is now back in Wales and considering his options.
According to The Sun, Rangers have made an offer of £900,000 for the England youth cap but Swansea are holding out for £2million, so a bid somewhere in the middle might be enough to bring in up the road.
Whittaker plays predominantly off the right-hand side of the attack in a role that we have tried various options, Fashion Sakala the current man in possession of a starting jersey due to his form since Beale arrived, however, we need more depth and would also benefit from someone who is more consistent both during games and on a game by game basis – sometimes even Sakala doesn’t look like he knows what he is going to do next.
We need starters who will improve the first XI and we need players who we can develop and sell at a profit, Whittaker could well tick both boxes.
