Rangers keep their transfer cards very close to their chests nowadays and it’s only really when opposition managers or agents let slip about potential interest to we get to hear about players we might be chasing.

We saw at the weekend about Jeando Fuchs of Dundee United claiming that there had been contact from us, then there were the reports from Belgium that we had attended an Anderlecht game, Sergio Gomez or Francis Amuzu the names being mentioned.

One club that gives everything away is Peterborough United, led by their not-so-shy doctor of football Barry Fry, the championship side have produced a few players that have caught Ross Wilson’s eye in recent seasons.

The latest being winger Siriki Dembele who has be watched for some time by the club and who is fast approaching the stage when Rangers can offer him a pre-contract agreement, thankfully, without having to deal with Fry.

This week he has given an update on the 24-year old’s future and hinted that he might not be with the Posh for much longer when talking about his clubs January plans, as reported by The Peterborough Telegraph:

“Other clubs are still making offers for Dembele, but they haven’t even been worth putting before the owners.”

Now, knowing what Fry is like, he has never been one to stay quiet about us or Celtic being interested in one of his players, if we had made an offer, he would tell us about it – remember when Ivan Toney left for Brentford and he all but laughed off Celtic’s bid?

Who did GvB make his competitive Rangers debut against as a player?

Hopefully, Dembele has already made his mind up and been given the heads up as to what would be on offer if he came to Ibrox, for a start, there would be knockout football in Europe and the chance to play in the Premier League next season – beats playing at Stoke City on a cold Tuesday night.
