Warburton makes massive prediction about Steven Gerrard’s Rangers

|

Former Rangers manager Mark Warburton believes Steven Gerrard’s side will win the league title next season, speaking to interview YouTube channel Open Goal.

Warburton had a tumultuous spell at Rangers, initially bringing excellent form and success to the club to gain promotion to the Scottish Premiership, before ultimately falling short up against the incoming Brendan Rodgers.

He remains well placed to offer insight into the title race, with Celtic’s squad similar to his spell in Glasgow.

Asked by Open Goal how he felt about the push for 55 when he returned to the Scottish Premiership, he admitted his ‘heart sank’ when his side were tipped to compete with Celtic for the title, and believes it’s too soon for Steven Gerrard’s team again this season.

He does though go on to state that a year into Gerrard’s reign the Gers will be a different prospect, tipping them to stop a nine-in-a-row Celtic triumph by lifting the Scottish Premiership trophy next season.

It’s a bold prediction but one many Rangers supporters will find hope in.

This term looks beyond us yet again, being eight points behind the Hoops with 12 games remaining. But most supporters are willing to believe that Gerrard is slowly building something special at the club, with patience key to delivering eventual success.

Are we on the verge of major honours?
