Rangers were far from good enough last night as we lost to Aberdeen in what could prove a big game in the title race.
I firmly believe that we can win the league this season because Celtic are by no means that good at all.
For sure, it is open but that means that we need to stamp our authority across the league at every opportunity and instead we are letting things slip.
We could have taken Aberdeen on after their cup loss but we were ponderous and sloppy and a number of our players simply went hiding and played the easy pass.
It was slow and frustrating and even at 1-0 down there was a lack of urgency and thrust from our players.
We have to move on, then, and Gareth McAuley has had this to say via the club’s official Twitter account after the game:

Few are far from happy with this, though, so let’s see what has been said about his comments:
How about “we let the fans down”?

That’s just like a Warburton interview – we will learn the lessons from tonight, train hard and move on. We could have played until Sunday and not scored. Youngsters like Middleton and Ejaria were hung out to dry by the older players. Nobody even wanted to help at throw ins

The character of the players was questioned tonight and they failed. If the players can’t motivate themselves to play in pivotal matches like that then they are not going to win the league and cup deciders. Poor performance.

When your first though is to pass it backwards or sideways you shouldn’t be on the pitch when we are chasing a goal.

Thought defence was slow In pace and reaction to close down attacks. Let them bully us too. Never going to win a game where we play the ball sideways and not into the box

What was disappointing was watching you and Goldson passing to each other 500 times when we’re 0-1 behind.

That was embarrassing

The whole team under performed tonight. What an oppertunity to go ahead on the league. Ref was terrible, but Morelos needs to stop taking the bait, cost us any chance of a result. We could have played till midnight and still not scored. Warburton esque
