Rangers have played brilliantly this season. We’ve done better than any supporter would have expected, and for that, Steven Gerrard deserves a lot of credit.

However, we recently made the case that the Englishman is facing a rather significant problem at Ibrox, in the form of disciplinary issues. Rangers have had a number of red cards this season, with Alfredo Morelos the latest to receive one on Wednesday.

It really hurt us on Wednesday, and it’s hurt us a number of times over the course of the season more broadly, though it often hasn’t had a direct impact on results.

It seems as though a fair few fans are recognising the issue. We recently asked Rangers supporters whether there’s a disciplinary issue at Ibrox, and in response, 36% of those polled have revealed that they think there is.

A majority still believe that it’s not an issue, but that would likely change the moment that a defender gets sent off and we concede a goal just minutes later – which is bound to happen if things keep going this way.

The simple fact of the matter is when we have less players on the field, we’re less likely to win, and we’ve been averaging a red card every other game over the last few weeks.

Gerrard’s men have desire and passion, but they can’t overstep the line. Clearly, a fair few fans are eager for them to calm it down a little bit. Some fans, though, clearly aren’t too concerned – though we bet that will change if we keep getting players sent off.
