Wantaway Frenchman Jerome Rothen looks to be stuck at Ibroc until the end of the season.

The loan agreement between Rangers and PSG sees Rangers paying half of Rothen’s reported £36,000 per week salary, and the French club, unsurprisingly, are in no rush to take the salary back on despite Rothen stating he wants to leave.

A representative of the French club confirmed this week: “Jerome Rothen has a loan arrangement with Rangers until the end of the season and the terms of that deal have not changed.

“If the player wishes to leave Rangers or the club no longer want him then that is a concern for Jerome and Rangers, not us.”

Yet another wasted salary – a gamble that really hasn’t paid off when we clearly do not have money to burn at all. He looked half-decent a few times for us but seems a very moody, temperamental player.

It seems the only solution is to persevere with him and hope he comes onto a game….would you give him another chance?
