If you were listening to BBC Radio Scotland last night and didn’t have access to the internet, you could be forgiven for being in a bad mood last night after the national broadcaster attempted to change history after 3-2 victory over Aberdeen.

The 10 pm news claimed that Aberdeen “damaged” our hopes of reeling in Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership after they came from behind and scored two “stunning” goals to  beat Rangers 2-1.

If you think I’m joking, have a listen for yourself…

That was more premature than a Willie Collum red card. Maybe it was just wishful thinking but how bad does your professionalism have to be to wrongly announce the result of a game when, at that time, it had already finished?

What’s better than imagining you hadn’t been able to see the game, getting told that by the BBC and then finding out later on that we’d actually won is that there would have been Aberdeen and Celtic fans that heard that scoreline that would have no idea what had actually happened – glorious.

It’s not often we have the chance to upset both sets of their fans and Scott Arfield managed to do it with some aplomb.

I can only imagine that this is the sort of sports coverage that you get in North Korea – don’t like the result, just make one up that makes you feel better. On that note, has anyone seen Willie Miller today….?
