At Rangers press conference today, Steven Gerrard provided news of a welcome boost for the squad which will be gratefully received by the fans.

Ahead of the must win Champions League qualifying clash against Malmo to set up a playoff date with Olympiacos of Greece or Ludogorets of Bulgaria, the boss alluded to having greater firepower available as well as competition in defence.

Following on from Alfredo Morelos return at Tannadice last weekend, Rangers will welcome back Ianis Hagi and Fashion Sakala to the squad for tomorrow night.

Defensive options are solidified with the return of Leon Balogun from injury, now that his Euro suspension has been served.

Last week in Sweden, Rangers had very little to choose from, in reserve, due to several reasons.

Now, squad depth has been reinforced and Rangers are just missing the suspended Glen Kamara and Kemar Roofe as well as longer term injury absentees.

In particular, having the options of Sakala and Hagi will be pivotal in supporting the likes of Morelos, Ryan Kent and Scott Wright as the Gers go for goals to emerge victorious from this tie.
