He may not have had a starring role but Greg Stewart can proudly say that he made a small contribution to Rangers historic title number 55.

That honour is his forever but of more pressing concern to the former Kilmarnock and Aberdeen man is where he will be plying his trade this season.

The 31-year old has revealed that he has options at home and abroad, as he aims to sign a contract and get back into the swing of things very soon.

As reported by the Scotsman, he stated:

“I’ve been back training on my own for a wee bit but I’m hopeful something will be sorted out this week.”

“It will be good to get back in amongst it – I’ve had an offer from abroad and a few from Scotland so I’m just mulling over what’s best for me and my family.”

Next step

With a young family, uprooting for an overseas adventure may not be a preferred option but what a life experience that could be, both in a football and personal, sense.

Closer to home, St Johnstone have been mentioned and that would be a very good move given that it’s clear to see Callum Davidson’s side are going places.

You could see Stewart fitting into Hibs style of play or could he even make another return to Pittodrie?

He is too good a player to be without a club for to long and Greg Stewart is sure to get a positive reception if and when he returns to Ibrox.

Known as a top professional and diligent in going about his work, a ringing endorsement from Steven Gerrard is likely should it even be required.
