The second instalment of Ianis Hagi’s Instagram documentary “The Comeback” was released this week, in which, we get to see the Romanian international stepping up his rehabilitation as he recovers from knee surgery.

Moving to Amsterdam for a few weeks, the Rangers number seven is seen doing strength work, balance and proprioception drills and, for the first time, what looks to be an increase in cardiovascular effort on the bike due to not being able to push himself running yet.

In the video he explains that his knee is feeling good with a lengthy scar on the outside of his right knee revealing the full extent of the work he has had done to get him back playing again but the most entertaining part of the video is watching him go through the emotions of Rangers 2-1 semi-final win over Celtic in the Scottish Cup.

Hagi is clearly kicking every ball as he reacts to missed chances and his team going behind but is soon punching the air as Rangers level then go in front, commenting on Scott Arfield that he “owed us one” presumably after watching the 33-year old miss a couple of gilt edged chances against Braga just a few days before in the Europa League.

Hagi’s physio spoke about his primary role being to get his patient ready for returning to the pitch in a few weeks time, if this hasn’t been lost in translation, the thought of the playmaker being close to starting football specific drills, however light, is something to look out for as a welcome distraction to the transfer rumours currently kicking about.
