Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

None more so than ex-Celtic player Chris Sutton who has had plenty to say over the years.

From Celtic’s period of dominance right through to recent times, the Englishman hasn’t been shy to put the boot into Rangers and the team’s struggles on the pitch.

Those days are over and he knows it!

“At least Celtic stopped a clean sweep”

That is some fall from grace.

Whilst Rangers failed to pick up all three points yesterday, Steven Gerrard and the team will be content to maintain their unbeaten record in the Premiership this season and can look forward to the final Old-Firm clash of the season at Ibrox when the squad will be in a better frame of mind and condition to show their credentials as champions.

The team can be very happy with their efforts after what has been a very demanding week, in more ways than one.

Meanwhile, Sutton is left to be the diplomat and to clutch at straws for positives for Celtic.

He has been relatively silenced by the evolution of Gerrard’s Rangers and the stunning decline of his old club, who face a massive rebuild in the months ahead.

It has been a long time coming, but the roles have reversed in Glasgow.
