Rangers announced on Saturday night that academy prospect Dapo Mebude has signed a new three year deal at the club, keeping him at Ibrox until 2021.

The 17-year-old is considered to be one of the most exciting talents currently coming through the Rangers youth sides, also capped at U17, U18 and U19 levels with the Scotland national team.

He’s caught the eye in recent months for his development performances and fans are absolutely delighted to see him sign up.

The player himself also took to Twitter to share his delight after the news broke.

The hope for the player now will be making the kind of progress that puts him on Steven Gerrard’s first-team radar.

The manager hasn’t been shy in giving players such as Glenn Middleton senior action, with other young players like Andy Dallas also featuring on the first-team bench of late.

Supporters are eager to see what he can achieve in a Rangers shirt and shared their excitement with the news this weekend on social media…
