Alfredo Morelos is never one to hide his emotions and the struggling striker is having a difficult time of late, especially when it comes to finding the back of the net.

The Colombian international – rated at £13.5million on transfermarkt – has been taking too many touches when one will do and snatching at chances when he has time to get it under control, a sure fire indication that things are not well in the head of El Bufalo.

He has been backed by his gaffer to come good though with Steven Gerrard having no complaints about the other aspects of his play, as reported by The Daily Record.

“These things happen. He’s not the first centre-forward that this has happened to.

“They have moments and phases where they are not in top form. He is working hard, he’s doing a job for the team. His all-round play is good, he’s just maybe lacking that wee bit of confidence in front of goal.

“That’s for me to deal with and it will turn. I’m sure it will turn. He’s just got to keep doing the right things and it will turn for him.”

And when Gerrard was asked if his talisman needed a goal to get his confidence back, he said:

“Well he doesn’t do interviews, so I don’t know and you don’t know. He’s working hard and getting chances, maybe his confidence is affected slightly, because that pass from Kemar Roofe normally he would take that on first time. If he keeps working hard and stays focused I’m sure his form will turn.”

Will Morelos come good?

Yes

Yes

No

Morelos has had dry spells before but this is the first time that it hasn’t affected the form of the team, as Gerrard said, he is still contributing in the build up play and getting into good positions, it will come, remember, if you think the form we are in just now is good, imagine how good it will be when he starts firing on all cylinders.
