Source close to transfer target oiling wheels to get Rangers move to happen

|

Quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, former Rangers player Marcus Gayle has suggested that Steven Gerrard will help Joe Aribo improve as a player.

The Gers have been linked with the Charlton man for some time and it does appear as though he is a player on our radar at the moment.

And, as per the report, Gayle has spoken to the attacking midfielder and urged him to join our club:

“He wants to develop, he has that desire. I said to him he is still at that development stage and he has got an opportunity, should he go to Rangers, to learn from Steven Gerrard and he will push you further in your career, there is no doubt about that.”

Certainly, it’s nice to see one of our former players – not that he featured much – trying to get the wheels moving on this deal.

Aribo is a very clever footballer that is good on the ball in the final third and Gayle is right, if he joins our club and works under Steven Gerrard he is going to have a fine career.

It’s clear Rangers are keen on him, too, so let’s try and get this one over the line before too long.
